UNDP Jordan Conducts Capacity Building Training on Gender-Based Violence for Government Institutions
The UNDP Jordan CO., through its Governance & Peace Pillar, will support the Ministries of Interior, Ministry of Social Development and Public Security Directorate in developing and delivering capacity building training on Gender-based Violence to improve GBV-related prevention and response interventions. This subsequently is expected to contribute to Jordan’s social protection policies with an overall human rights approach that encourages the improvement of service provision to victims and survivors of violence. Accordingly, the UNDP Jordan CO. decided to contract Esraa Mahadin as a National Consultant (Gender Equality Expert/Advisor) to support in delivering the capacity-building training.
who worked under the overall guidance of the Governance and Peace (GP) Team Leader, with close coordination with the UNDP Gender focal point and the GP team. Also, she worked closely with the concerned staff from the Ministries of Interior, Social Development, and Public Security Directorate so the purpose of the capacity building on GBV is to enhance the capacity to address gender inequalities and increase the public government staff on gender-based violence (GBV) as well as support them in the legal framework for dealing with GBV in Jordan.
